Armando Broja, a product of Chelsea’s academy and a forward for the Blues, has attracted attention from clubs across Italy, Germany, and England, despite a challenging 2023-24 season marked by injuries and a less-than-successful loan stint at Fulham.

The Albanian international, under contract with Chelsea for another four years, endured a season with minimal starts and substitute appearances, tallying only two goals.

Interest from multiple leagues

Following Albania’s Euro 2024 campaign, which ended in the group stage, Broja now looks ahead to potential opportunities outside Chelsea. He has received offers from Serie A, Bundesliga, and Premier League clubs, confirming his intention to explore options beyond Stamford Bridge.

In an interview with RTV Klan, Broja expressed his openness to considering these offers: “It’s true, I have offers from Serie A, the Bundesliga, and the Premier League. Staying at Chelsea? It is an option. I still have a contract here.”

Financial implications for Chelsea

Chelsea stands to benefit financially from Broja’s potential departure, which could aid the club in maintaining compliance with the Premier League’s stringent profit and sustainability regulations. With four years left on his contract, Chelsea is looking at leveraging his sale to bolster their financial position.

AC Milan has emerged as a prominent suitor for Broja, with the player acknowledging his admiration for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a key figure at the Italian football. Broja hinted at his interest in joining Milan: “Milan is a great club, second only to Real Madrid in history. I would tell [Ibrahimovic] that I need to talk to my agent and family, then I will let him know.”

Meanwhile, negotiations regarding Joshua Zirkzee’s transfer to Bologna face hurdles over agent fees, complicating the Italian club’s pursuit. Manchester United’s recent interest in Zirkzee adds further complexity to the transfer landscape.

As Broja evaluates his options for the upcoming season, including potential moves to prominent clubs in Italy, Germany, or England, his decision will likely hinge on securing regular playing time and continuing his development at a competitive level. Chelsea’s stance on leveraging his transfer reflects their strategic approach amid financial regulations in the Premier League.
