New Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca has finally spoken to Blues supporters after his appointment in west London. Maresca, aged 44, became Chelsea manager last month under a five-year deal starting on July 1.

Already active in the transfer market, the Italian has made four key signings, including Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from his old club Leicester City for £30 million. He has also brought in Marc Guiu, Omari Kellyman, and Tosin Adarabioyo.

Maresca’s vision for Chelsea

After a busy start to the transfer window, Chelsea fans were eager to hear from Maresca. On his eighth day in charge, he shared a message of unity and patience with the fans. Maresca urged fans to trust his vision and support the team fully.

While admitting the challenges of managing a football club, he shared his optimism about the journey ahead and said he hopes the fans will enjoy it.

After enduring a couple of rough years, including 12th and 6th place finishes and short managerial stints by Graham Potter and Frank Lampard, Blues fans have been through a lot.

Maresca plans to strengthen the bond between the club and its loyal supporters. He emphasized the importance of understanding the club’s and team’s needs to make progress and the right decisions throughout his time in charge.

Maresca is focused on creating the right mentality and culture, aiming to build an environment that fans can be proud of. He wants to create a strong team both defensively and offensively while building a solid connection with the fans, especially during home games.

According to Maresca, passionate fan support is like having an extra player, a crucial strength Chelsea should use. Since Todd Boehly’s takeover in 2022, Chelsea has been seeking silverware, which they haven’t won yet.

Last season under Mauricio Pochettino, they came close but lost to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final in February. Maresca recognizes the club’s winning tradition and is committed to making sure his squad competes at the top level.

He stressed that winning trophies is the main goal, given Chelsea’s rich history of success. Fans can rest assured that his team will work hard to compete with top clubs and aim for titles.
